The most popular way to distribute POAP is through QR codes displayed at events. All you have to do is scan the QR code with your phone and then enter your email address or Ethereum wallet address. This may be the case if the POAP badge is used by the community to unlock closed content or channels in forums such as Discord.
As a temporary replacement for a crypto wallet, POAPs can be reserved with an email address. Email requests are different from using your Ethereum wallet. Using email, you create a reservation in the POAP system for the ability to copy your POAP to the blockchain at a later date.
