The father-son duo starts a new business venture in Tulsa

TULSA, Oklahoma – The Grobleb family is new to Oklahoma with a mission to spend more time together and start a family business that can last for years.

The father-son duo set up their Fibrenew Green Country business. The father, Travis Grobelb, said: “We are restoring leather, plastic and vinyl. We have worked on cars, furniture, a lot of work with RVs and boats.”

After a recent move to Sooner State, Travis wanted to start a new and challenging job. He also thinks it’s the perfect way to spend more time with his son Jacob.

“Not many people have a chance to work with their father this way, so it just seemed like something I should try, and it’s been a lot of fun since I started,” Jacob said.

Along with honing their craft, they also learn how to come together as business partners. Their goal with Fibrenew is to save valuables while saving someone money.

Travis told 2 News: “We keep a lot of things out of landfills. That’s one of our sales advantages. If you can restore it and keep using it for another ten years or whatever, it helps protect us from landfills. . “

They like to see the reactions of customers, like when a man at Bixby asks them to restore vinyl in his classic car.

“This Lincoln was flawless and there was a place where the vinyl had cracked on the armrest, and we fixed it for him, and he came out and looked at it, and it was like, ‘This is amazing, thank you very much,'” Travis said. .

The father-son duo has been working on dozens of projects in the first few months of their business, but there’s one thing they haven’t worked on but would like to.

“I’ve heard a lot of people say that working on airplanes is pretty cool. “Yes, we haven’t had the opportunity to work on a plane, and I think that would be pretty cool,” Groblebes said.

One challenge is to maintain the boundaries between family and business, but they said they have big goals. Ultimately, they want Fibrenew to expand so that each of them can work independently, allowing them to restore more valuable items to the people of Green Country.
