The devastating ending of Janet Todd by Ekaterina Vandarieva before the offer for the ONE 159 title

Janet Todd is one of the most technical and methodical strikers in the ONE Championship, but the world kickboxing champion ONE atomic weight has no problem exploding for a one-shot kill.

Just look at what the American striker Ekaterina Vandarieva did on ONE: Century Part I in October 2019:

Todd and Vandaryeva made several exchanges at the beginning of the second round, but not much damage was done to any of the fighters. Putting Vandarieva to sleep for a brief moment of calm, Todd threw a left shot and then fired a right kick, which landed on the jaw of the Belarusian.

This was a brutal shot that initially shook Vandarieva before she fell on the canvas in a pile. Vandarieva did her best to recover, but it was obvious that the battle was over and Todd also knew that this was another victory in her one-star ONE Championship.

Todd’s victory over Vandarieva was also in the early stages of her impressive ONE Championship winning streak. After losing his debut match against Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex, Todd continued his six-game winning streak. Her victory over Vandarieva was the third victory in this round.

Todd’s victory over Vandarieva was also a precursor to her title match against Stamp, a year after she failed to become a world Muay Thai champion in ONE atomic weight.

The rematch between Todd and Stemp was for the ONE Atomic Kickboxing World Title and JT won the award, taking the win with the decision and the belt in February 2020.

Janet Todd is aiming for a second world title

Janet Todd plans to become a double champion when she makes her debut Lara Fernandez for ONE temporary world Muay Thai title at ONE 159: De Ridder vs. Bigdash. The event is scheduled for July 22 and will be broadcast live from Singapore’s indoor stadium.

The Boxing Works fighter can join an exceptional club, which so far has five members. They are Martin Nguyen, Aung La N Sang, Sam-A Guyanhadao, Stamp and Rainier de Rieder.

Meanwhile, Fernandez has extensive experience in his debut in the ONE Championship. The Spanish striker holds a record of 40-13-3 in Muay Thai and kickboxing and holds the titles of WBC Muay Thai in the lightweight category and ISKA in the super lightweight category.
