The Daily Kos Congenitality Award

People who remember the old Miss America pageant are familiar with a subcategory called Miss Congeniality. This award, in theory, went to the athlete who was most liked or who got along well with most of the others. I often wondered if this went to the man who was actually the prettiest, or to the woman who was best able to pretend to like everyone, according to the stereotypes of the culture of the competitions.

For this category of Koscar, obviously, we want someone who is first: really liked only because of what they are, not because they are necessarily trying to please everyone. When they appear, their words add to the conversational mood of the topic and others feel connected to them, even though they have never met in person and may never do so. People who represent the spirit of the Daily Kos in one way or another and deserve recognition for just that.

Because we didn’t want to have sex, miss, madam, madam, mr. or Mx. Congeniality, this will be DK’s congeniality award. The basket will go to an individual. You can link to some of their work if you wish, but it is not necessary.

Remember that people who receive multiple mentions, have a better chance of entering the final list of nominees. Nominations will be open while this story receives comments. This may be a strange category nominate yourself, but hey, if you feel called, then do it!

You also have another day to nominate in Category № 9: Extreme Irritation

This may be the jewel in the crown of the Koscar categories. Where would Daily Kos be without the intelligent, passionate statements that Left Blogistan has always been known for? Every day, someone here talks about something: to ease tensions, raise awareness, or just let off steam about the horrific behavior of our opponents.

Ridicule draws our attention to unreported and under-reported injustices; sentences teach us new curses, introduce new frames and entertain us with creatively colorful phrases; the sentences speak for us when so much steam comes out of our ears that we cannot find words strong enough to express our indignation. Sentences – angry, informative or joyful – are the very lifeblood of essential online conversations and always will be. Let’s tip our favorite sentences in recognition of everything they have given us!

Of course, there is no way to do an adequate review of the material for 20 years and be absolutely sure that we have all the bases covered. Instead, just rely on the power of the most memorable work that grabbed you and made you notice with answers like, “This speaks for me!” And “Nail Strike”; driven deep! ” or “I wish I had written this!”

Does this lead you to any particular scripture? This is the story we want you to nominate.

Please use the link for category № 9 above or below to make your last minute nomination in this category. You can nominate the same author more than once, as some of the best writers here have dozens of memorable sentences! As always, stories that receive multiple nominations, have a better chance of entering the final list of nominees. Nominate one today!
