BALTIMORE (WJZ) – A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder in A triple shooting in the inner harbor that killed 17-year-old Neil Mack on Remembrance Day weekend, police said.
The teenager was arrested this morning at his home in Howard County, police said. He is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, reckless intimidation and multiple charges of firearms.
policewoman offered an award earlier this month for information on two boys they sought to identify themselves in connection with the shooting. Police confirmed that the arrested teenager was one of those boys.
Mack and a 17-year-old girl were shot dead on May 28 in block 300 on East Pratt Street, according to police. Both were hospitalized, but Mack eventually succumbed to his injuries. Tendea Family, a local community organization that works to reduce crime, said Mack is a youth intern at the organization.
Days later, doctors determined that a 15-year-old girl who was present at the shooting was injured. life-threatening wound to her headsaid the police.
The suspect is in Central Booking, where he has been charged as an adult and is awaiting a meeting with the trial commissioner. While police did not say whether the second boy they were looking to identify was a suspect in the shooting, they said the investigation was ongoing.
Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said about 20 police officers were in the area last month when the shooting happened, but that did not stop the attack.
