The communications director of the far-right Republican Front, Moms for Liberty, has been charged with threatening to shoot school librarians.
The media is important there is a record:
The group has the facade of an ordinary organization, but is funded by Republicans, and behind the demand for parental interest rights is the introduction of an extreme right-wing agenda.
Lonec County, Arkansas, Melissa Missy’s communications manager, Bosch told school district librarians: “I’m telling you, if I had any mental health issues, they’d all be plowed with a damn gun by now.”
Librarians have been targeted by the far right with its critical campaign for race theory. Republicans have targeted election workers, librarians, school district officials and other local government officials.
Bosch claims that the recording was made and edited illegally, but according to Media Matters, both of her allegations are incorrect.
The combination of easy access to weapons, along with right-wing conspiracies and disinformation, has created a climate in which Republicans are being radicalized to violence against their own communities.
The issue is much more complicated than weapons. Republicans seem to be transforming from conservative political activists into potential domestic terrorists in large and small communities across the country.
