According to many sources, Pittsburgh Pirates raised the best promising Oneil Cruz in the big ones.
The 23-year-old Cruz is big for a short stop, stands 6-7 and weighs 220 pounds.
In 54 games for Triple-A Indianapolis, Cruz hit .233 / .337 / .424, with nine home runs and 35 RBI. Cruz is also a threat to base trails, stealing 30 bases while being caught just six times in juveniles this season.
Cruz played in two major league games in 2021 for the Pirates. He hit .333 / .333 / .667 with a home run and three RBIs in nine appearances.
He was originally signed as an amateur free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2015. In 2017, the Pirates acquired Cruz, along with minor player Angel German, for the reveler Tony Watson.
