Report: Pacers consider trading with Brogden, Turner

The NBA Finals are in the rearview mirror, and the NBA Draft begins in just three days. With this, trade rumors fly at a rapid pace.

A team close to the center of everything in the Eastern Conference is Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers have missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, and were previously eliminated in the first round in five consecutive years. They made one of the biggest deals last season in February when they did sent two-time All Star Domantas Sabonis and others in exchange for a package of players, including Tyrese Halliburton.

A former rookie on the first team who turned 22 shortly after the exchange, Halliburton would be a big part of Indiana’s future plans. As for who could be chasing Brogden and Turner, Shams Charani from The Athletic said there are many teams in the mix.

“The Wizards and Knicks are interested in Brogden, armed with 10 and 11 kicks, respectively, sources said.” Charania wrote. “The hornets have shown interest in Turner, these sources said. However, Indiana, who is number 6 in the draft, may choose to continue rethinking its veteran core instead of building entirely on young players.”

Brogden was limited to 36 low-level games last season due to an Achilles injury, but still averaged 19.1 points, 5.9 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game, while scoring a .488 line. 312 / .856.

Turner also struggled with injuries in the 2021-22 season, playing in only 42 races (low in his career) due to foot disease, while averaging 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 blocks and scoring .509. .333 / .752 firing line.
