Red Bull’s Sergio Perez left the Canadian GP due to a mechanical injury

Sergio Perez from Red Bull Racing dropped out of the Canadian Grand Prix due to mechanical damage.

The Mexican driver withdrew from lap 8. Red Bull manager Christian Horner said there was a problem with the gearbox.

Haas driver Mick Schumacher was the next to go on lap 20, also due to alleged mechanical problems. AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda was next, gliding across the grass and then into the wall in lap 49.

The Canadian Grand Prix returns for the 2022 season on the Gilles Villeneuve track, after COVID-19 forced its cancellation in both 2020 and 2021.
