Patrick Mahoms is “a little surprised” by the criticism of Tyrick Hill

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahoms told reporters Thursday that recent criticism of his game from former teammate Tyreek Hill surprised him.

The 28-year-old Hill won a nod to the Pro Bowl in all six seasons with the Chiefs before being exchanged for Miami Dolphins in March. Last week, the fast receiver released the first episode of a new podcast called “Need to Say” and fired several shots at his former quarterback.

“I’m a little surprised just because I feel we love Tyreek here,” Mahoms said Adam Thatcher of ESPN. “We have always loved him. We still love him. I saw him in Formula One in Miami. I’m sure it had something to do with trying to insert his podcast and play it.

“I still love Tyrick. He is the only player of his kind. In the coach [Andy] Reed’s attack takes the entire team. This crime was going on before I came here. “

In his podcast, Hill said Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was a more accurate passer than Mahomes. Hill also said Mahoms will be on a “long day” when he returns to the field without a receiver.
