The first look at Netflixis controversial Marilyn Monroe the biographical film is here!

Rus is based on the eponymous bestseller novel by Joyce Carol Oates, and even months before its premiere in September, it has already managed to ruffle a lot of feathers! First, it was received a rare NC-17 rating – is often seen as the kiss of death for popular Hollywood movies! In fact, Netflix itself shift the release date back last year when they were shocked by the graphic nature of the film! director Andrew Dominic he has already said that the song has “something to offend everyone” – it is definitely not something to watch with children, people!

The film’s synopsis states that it “boldly rethinks” Marilyn’s life – something many fans and historians are not happy about:

Rus boldly rethinks the life of one of Hollywood’s most enduring icons, Marilyn Monroe. From her changeable childhood as Norma Jean, through her rise to stardom and romantic intricacies, Rus blurs the boundaries of fact and fiction to explore the growing divide between its public and private nature. ”

Dominic doesn’t hold ANYTHING in this retelling! And Joyce Carol Oates has already given her stamp of approval, calling it “very disturbing” and “brilliant” in tweet last year.

In an exclusive interview with Queue on NetflixAnna gave inside information about the creation of Russaying:

“We worked on this film for hours, every day for almost a year. I read Joyce’s novel, studied hundreds of photos, videos, audio recordings, movies – everything I came across. Each scene is inspired by an existing photo. We will look at every detail of the photo and discuss what happens in it. The first question was always, “How did Norma Jean feel here?” We wanted to tell the human side of her story. Fame is what made Marilyn the most visible person in the world, but it also made Norma the most invisible.

She also said she “found this to be the boldest, most apologetic and feminist look at Marilyn’s story” she had ever seen. haha

It sounds like the whole team is working really hard to capture the true nature of the late legend – and they weren’t afraid to provoke controversy along the way! In a February interview with ScreenDailyDominic repeated the insulting nature of the biographical film, throwing down his glove.

“The blonde is a demanding film. If the audience doesn’t like it, that’s the problem of the devilish king of the audience. He shall not run for public office. “

Come on! This definitely worried us about the release!
