Mo’Nique publicly apologizes to DL Hughley’s family for insulting them amid online feud

Mo’Nique and DL Hughley for weeks they had been exchanging blows over the Detroit comedy show contract dispute. After Mo called DL, claiming that she was the headliner of the show, things became personal when the comedian mentioned Huley’s youngest daughter and wife.

Mo’nique took to the stage for a comedy show in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday night, where he sent a public apology to Huley’s family for his comments. However, DL is still on her hit list.

“I would like to consider myself a woman of honor. So now I’m about to do something public that I did in public. And when I screw something up, I have to fix it. So I’ll take care of that now before I go any further. To DL Hughley’s family, I want to publicly apologize if I have hurt anyone’s feelings. I want to publicly apologize to his wife, to his babies, if I hurt their feelings, because that was never my devilish intention.

Oh, but this n * gga DL, I meant every dirty * king thing I said.

Huley Ryan’s eldest daughter Nicole Shepard joined her father’s exchange after Mo’Nique mentioned her sister’s sexual assault by a family friend and said “How can DL’s wife suck a coward” in an Instagram post.

Shepard sent a message to Mo’Nick informing her that he was provoking his family to “act out of character.”

Hi @therealmoworldwide, I’m Ryan Nicole Shepard (eldest daughter of DL Hughley and LaDonna Hughley). Now you have publicly neglected my mother – whom I love and care for very much – and my little sister – whom I love and care for so that I can return to my father – who I love, respect and care for a lot. At this point, I have the feeling that you are asking my family and me to act out of character.

Huley republished his daughter’s statement with a statement about his family’s relationship. See the entire exchange below:
