In a recent tirade, Abbey Lee Miller struck Dancing mothers alumaccusing them of “abandoning” her.
Although many mourned Miller during her battle with cancer and paralysis, her complaints did not go well.
Now Maddie Ziegler speaks openly, identifying Miller as the main source of trauma (apparently).
She is more than happy to announce that Miller is out of her life forever.
19-year-old Maddie Ziegler is easily one of the most famous survivors Dancing mothers glove.
Speaking to Cosmopolitanshe fully admits that her childhood on reality television did not make the best impression.
“People thought I was impudent because in all my interviews I said, ‘I’m the best. I know I will win, ”Madir called.
Of course, Maddie was only 8 years old when she did it Dancing mothers debut.
“But,” Maddie explained, “it’s because the producer told me to say that.”
She confirmed: “I don’t think I’m better than everyone else.”
“I just did what I was told,” Maddie recalls.
The young entrepreneur admitted that she agreed to it, “because I thought you were doing it.”
Maddie admitted, without confusing her words, “They set you up for failure.”
Abby Lee Miller was widely condemned for toxic, racist and even offensive behavior on the show.
There is simply no excuse to yell at children or make fun of their failures.
As a young adult, Maddie had years to deal with the damage done by Miller.
“It’s weird because there were some really amazing moments,” Maddie said.
“But,” she continued, “there were a lot of things that weren’t really, really great for us kids.”
Among other things, Maddie noted that she was not allowed to make friends with other dancers.
“I had to study a lot of these things,” Maddie admitted.
Some child stars grow up watching old episodes that they have filmed.
Maddie said she did not want to go for a walk Dancing mothers memory tape.
“I watched a little episode from the beginning to show my boyfriend,” said Maddie.
“We both said, ‘This is sad.’ We have to rule this out, “she said.
Many people had exactly the same reaction when the series was originally broadcast.
Maddie said her family did not want to stick to the program and at one point tried to leave.
A contract with the network forced her to continue participating, unfortunately.
“My family and I have really tried to leave for the last three seasons,” Maddie said.
“But when you have a contract, it’s really hard,” she complained.
“Eventually,” Maddie added, “I’m finally out.”
We all remember Miller’s response to Maddie and Mackenzie’s departure. She locked herself in an office and cried.
“She was upset. We’ve felt so guilty for a long time, “Maddie admitted.
“She trained me, she helped me,” she admitted.
“But also,” Maddie continued, “I knew I would be fine without her, and I was tired of being in a toxic environment.”
Maddie is no longer part of the Dance Moms world and said she has not spoken to Miller since leaving.
This suits her very well.
Sagely, Maddie said she never wants to talk to Abby Lee Miller again.
“I feel calm, definitely,” said Maddie Ziegler.
The therapy, she says, has really helped her process the trauma and deal with emotions in a healthy way.
“I learned that I will not have problems if I feel bad or if I have an injury,” said Maddie. – This is the biggest difference.
