“Little Nicholas – as happy as he can be” won the highest award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival – deadline

Directors Amandine Freden and Benjamin Masubre take the top prize for their animated film Little Nicholas – as happy as he can be of the annual Annecy International Festival of Animated Films in France.

A co-produced French / Luxembourg film is playing in the late 1950s in Paris, Rene Goshini (voiced by Alain Shabbat) and Jean-Jacques Sempe (voiced by Laurent Lafitte) invented the hero Nicholas, a little boy and joker with a smile on his face, whose days are interrupted by games with his group of friends, battles, jokes and learning. When the fictional character is invited to the workshop of his “fathers”, the roles are exchanged and the creators are the ones who tell about their childhood, career and friendship with Little Nicholas.

in 2021 Run won the top prize at the Annecy Film Festival and then won three Oscar nominations, one for Best Animated Feature. Will little Nikola go the same way?
