Liberal Newspaper claims Florida under DeSantis is like communist Cuba

This week, the Miami Herald published an article comparing the similarities between Florida under popular Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and Communist Cuba.

Yes really.

The author’s justification Fabiola Santiago? Governor DeSantis signed Bill 395 in the House of Representativessetting November 7 as the Day of the Victims of Communism and imposing 45 minutes of training in high schools on the dangers of communism from next year.

Because educating children about the dangers of communism is so much… communist?

Ban on books and mothers for freedom

Santiago uses comparisons with Cuba in the form of book bans, censorship and indoctrination. But first, let’s discuss banning the book.

In Santiago’s piece, she says:

“Mathematics textbooks and literary books have been banned because some committees in Cuba – also known as the ‘Moms for Freedom’ ‘, made up of citizens, jazz and empowered by Republicans in a state of hysteria – have deemed them inappropriate and alarmed.”

Part of what she has in mind is The Florida Department of Education rejected 41% of math textbooks this year.

To understand why, we just need to look at what is being pushed into textbooks.

One example was the question of polynomials. The question discussed that two million people test their racial prejudices using the online version of the implicit association test.

Mothers for Liberty Hillsborough County, Jessica Graham Chapter Member in short :

“For me, just teach math, just teach math. Why does racial prejudice have anything to do with mathematics? This is not so. This is not so. “

So Graham doesn’t want left-wing postmodern racial propaganda in math textbooks – just like the Cuban Communist Party!

You can read more about this in one of my previous articles here.

Comparing parents to the Communist Cuban Committee will certainly not punish parents who have been demonized and neglected in the last two years. This works great for the left; keep doing this please.

DeSantis censors teachers?

When Santiago refers to censorship, she refers to the alleged “Don’t say gay” bill, about which you can read more TIMESand the House Bill 7.

House bill 7 prohibits any teaching that may make students feel responsible for historical errors based on their race, color, gender, etc. The Awakening Stop Act also blocks businesses from using such diversity training.

Santiago says teachers are censored, continuing:

“Nothing that makes whites uncomfortable. Nothing about being gay or trans from kindergarten to third grade when the kids are full of questions about classmates and themselves. ”

I have a kindergarten. She asks questions like the ones below:

“Why do alligators have teeth?”

“Why are you drinking coffee? Smells bad.”

“Why is 2 + 2 = 4 and 2 by 2 = 4”

Unless I get in her head to ask, she won’t be interested in homosexuality, transsexual issues, or anything like that.

The inaccurate so-called “Don’t say gay” bill doesn’t even have the word “gay” in it.

Does he study slavery but not communism?

Governor DeSantis wants Florida high school students to learn about the evils of Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong and Fidel Castro. Let’s find out why.

The governor said:

“You can see students in the college flying with a sickle and a hammer from the old Soviet flag, you will see students wearing T-shirts with Che Guevara, you will see students worshiping people like Mao Zedong. To me, this speaks to a great ignorance of what these people are and the evils that communism has inflicted on people around the world. Although in some circles it is fashionable to whitewash the history of communism. “

His Vice-Governor Janet Nunes doubled with the following:

“Across the country, we see communism and socialism romanticizing.”

These are not just empty words designed to infuriate angry parents who are worried about what the public education system is pouring into their children’s minds.

According to a study by the Victims of Communism group70% of Millennials say they are likely to vote for a socialist, while one in three views communism favorably. In addition, 22% of Millennials believe:

“Society would be better off if all private property is removed.”

You know what, maybe ma’am. Santiago is right. Perhaps it is more important to discuss gender ideology with young children than to spend 45 minutes one day a year educating children about how terrible communism is. But wait a minute … no, that’s not right at all.

Even our elected officials in this country point to a lack of understanding of what these principles are. high-heels Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who famously whispered last March:

“Let me tell you a secret. Most people don’t really know what capitalism is. Most people don’t even know what socialism is.

She is not wrong; she is included in this group by some people. So it’s good for her to be self-aware.

Maybe she can take another vacation in Florida, as she is known. But next year, say about November 7 to get a 45-minute lesson on what communism is and why it’s terrible. That would be well-spent taxpayer money.
