EXCEPTIONAL: Jenna Coleman (The snake) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The invisible man) are elected as co-chapters of Amazon Original drama series, The desert, by Firebird Pictures. Filming begins this month in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, with the series launching Basic video next year in over 240 countries and territories.
Written and created by Marnie Dickens based on the novel of the same name by BI Jones, The desert revolves around the British couple Liv (Coleman) and Will (Jackson-Cohen), who seem to have it all: a solid marriage; glamorous new life in New York, thousands of miles from their hometown in the countryside; and still young enough to feel that their whole life is ahead of them. Until Liv found out about Will’s affair. The beating of the heart was quickly followed by another emotion: rage. Revenge is her only chance and when Will offers a trip to the epic national parks of America to give a new start to their relationship, Liv knows how to achieve it …The desert is a distorted love story in which a dream holiday and supposedly “happy next” quickly turn into a living nightmare.
The desert is also directed and executive producer by So Yong Kim (Love song) and executive producer Elizabeth Kilgarif and Dickens and produced by Firebird Pictures.
“I look forward to boarding the road, the desert and the depths beyond,” Coleman said. “Working with Oliver, we will explore the boundaries of a relationship that has been tested in unimaginable ways and in the hands of the wonderful So Yong Kim, Marnie Dickens and Liz Kilgarif of Firebird Pictures. I know this is going to be an extraordinary journey. ”
