To disable BitLocker in Windows 10 or Windows 11, follow these steps. We used a computer with Windows 11 below to demonstrate the steps, but Windows 10 is almost the same.
To get started, open the Start menu, search for Control Panel, and select Control Panel in the search results.
When the control panel opens, click System and Security.
On the System and Security page, select BitLocker Drive Encryption.
Next to the device where you enabled BitLocker, click “Turn off BitLocker.”
Select the “Turn off BitLocker” option.
Windows will start now decrypt the contents of your devicewhich can take a long time, especially if your device has a lot of content. In the meantime, you can continue to work with your files as usual.
Your device is already decrypted and you can access the data on it as you wish.
