IN SEE the conference will host a virtual chat with the film’s creators Pixar‘s “Light year“On Tuesday, June 28, he announced the first speakers for his mostly personal event in Turin, Italy, in October. 16-21.
The free PreVIEW event features director Angus McLain, producer Galin Sussman, animation supervisor David DeVan and simulation and tailoring supervisor Fran Callal. They will share a behind-the-scenes look at the animated adventure that follows the Space Ranger character, who inspired the action-packed Buzz Lightyear from the Pixar franchise Toy Story.
“We are ready to join forces with our Pixar friends for this special PreVIEW panel,” said conference director Maria Elena Gutierrez. “Meeting Angus McLain and his creative team is a great way to celebrate the launch of this long-awaited film, as well as to whet the appetite for our main conference program in October.”

Among the first speakers announced for the conference in October were President of Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Animation Ramsey Knight; Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Industrial Light & Magic Rob Bradow and Mark Petit, Vice President and General Manager of Unreal Engine at Epic Games. Producer Roy Conley will be available to share a look at Disney’s upcoming Strange World, while Peter Ramsey and Shannon Tyndall will talk about the Netflix series Lost Ollie. Director Rob Minkoff and producer Alex Schwartz will attend VIEW with Paramount’s Paws of Rage: The Legend of Hank. HBO’s senior vice president of visual effects and visual effects supervisor Jay Worth will talk about the Westworld cable series.
Other speakers at the conference include director Chris Pearn (“The Willoughbys”), Netflix Director of Research, Creative Algorithms and Technology Paul Debevets, Canadian National Film Board Eloi Champagne, RenderMan pioneer Dylan Sison, Guerilla Games studio director Jan- Bart van Beek, Insomniac Games lead animator Kevin Grow and ILM London creative director and visual effects supervisor Ben Morris.
