IN Los Angeles Dodgers will be left without a star right fielder Muki Bets for a while after receiving a cracked rib, which will put him on the list of injured, Manager Dave Roberts announced Saturday night.
The 29-year-old Bates reportedly suffered an injury in the first inning of a match Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Angels when he collided with teammate Cody Bellinger in the field. Bates finished the game but missed Friday and Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians.
“You’re taking one of the best baseball players out of the lineup,” Roberts said Saturday. via ESPN. “It’s a big blow, but at least we know what we’re dealing with and we’ll get it back sooner rather than later.”
Bates was in the midst of a decline with just three goals in his last 39 in batting with eight outs and zero walks. The dry period saw the average Betts strike from .311 to .273.
On Saturday, the Dodgers moved left fielder Chris Taylor to fill the Bates in the right field. Gavin Lux took Bates in the left field. The Dodgers say the time for Bates’ recovery has not yet been determined.
