Derrick Henry open for extension: “It would be great”

Last month we heard that the Titans are interested in an extension Derrick Henry. Well, it seems that the star that is coming back is also open for expansion. He spoke to Titanic reporter Paul KucharskiHenry said he would be interested in signing another deal with Tennessee.

“It’s always good to get a promotion,” Henry said. “The promotion is always good. I’m trying to deal with this, but I still have a contract at the moment. If that brings the future, then yes, that would be great. “

As early as 2020, Henry signed a four-year, $ 50 million deal that would keep him on the Titans during the 2023 campaign. On average, the deal ranked fifth Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, Ezekiel Elliott and Dalwin Cook). Although he suffered a significant injury, Henry has otherwise been healthy throughout his NFL career, so an extension could help him climb the AAV rankings. At the very least, a new extension could add some additional guarantees to Henry, while giving extra space to the Titans.

Henry was prolific in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons, and he transferred that production to 2021. In the first eight games, RB collected 1,091 yards from the fight and 10 touchdowns. Although his carrying yards dropped significantly (5.4 in 2020 to 4.3 in 2021), he was on track to have a year of career in the host game. A leg injury has knocked him out in the last nine games of the regular season, and while he has made a comeback for losing to the Titans’ playoffs, much of his off-season focus has been on his health.

“I do a lot of work with my feet, making sure I find my toes, he always tells me that when I train, just to balance my feet,” Henry told Kuharski. “I feel good, I run in the hills, I do limited running, all those things to make sure I’m ready.
