Democrats could see a tough showdown with Sanders

“Democrats are gearing up for a grueling weekend of voting in hopes of finally pushing through their long-sought economic bill, known as the Deflation Act,” The hill reports.

“Republicans have vowed to force a series of tough votes against the plan. But some of the lawmakers’ most painful votes may come from one of the Senate’s most prominent progressive crusaders.

“Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) says he plans to put senators on the record with proposed fixes to Democrats’ sprawling tax, health care and climate bills as the Senate prepares to descend into a marathon voting session.”
