Al Gross (I), the leading contender in the race for the American house in Alaska, dropped out on Monday, without giving a reason, Alaska Public Radio reports.
“Gross finished third in the special primary elections on June 11 to fill the vacancy left by the rapper’s death. Don Young. He was about to be one of four candidates to qualify for the special general vote.
“Instead, fourth place on this ballot will go to the next graduate – and that seems to be Republican Tara Sweeney.”
IN Anchorage Daily News Gross urged his supporters to consider voting for Mary Peltola (D) or Sweeney instead.
