A statue of Sally Reid was unveiled at the Aviation Museum in New York

With the crowd applauding “Ulcer, Sally, Ride”, a monument to the first American woman to fly into space was unveiled on Friday (June 17th) in front of the Air and Space Museum in Long Island, New York.

Aviation Swing Museum unveiled the statue of the late NASA astronaut (opens in a new section) during a ceremony attended by local officials and students from the area.
